Situated in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains surrounding San José del Cabo, in the southern part of the Baja California Peninsula, Flora Farms in Cabo is a renowned agricultural oasis. While travelers flock to Cabo for the sun, surf and sand, it would be a shame to miss this incredible venue.
It’s one our family always put at the top of our “to do” list when vacationing in Los Cabos.
Agricultural Paradise
Flora Farms in Cabo spans over 25 acres and is dedicated to organic and sustainable farming practices. The farm is worked mostly by hand, turning the soil the least amount as possible and nourishing it from the top down with layers of compost, mulch and decomposing cover crops.
Crops are also rotated to keep the soil healthy. Cultivating and weeding is done by hand.
If needed, pest control is carried out by the use of natural substances such as chili pepper, herb, and garlic essences.
The farm grows a diverse range of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. In fact, Flora Farms plants more than 100 varieties of vegetables and herbs, and you’ll find fruits like pineapple, plums, mangos, papayas, guanabana, soursop, and bananas growing on site.
Humane Ranching Practices
Flora Farms included ethical ranching as part of its sustainable process to supply its Field Kitchen and Grocery with high-quality humanely raised chicken, eggs, and pork. Beef is not raised nor served at the farm restaurant as it is not considered sustainable due to the lack of adequate water supply in Los Cabos.
The production of just one pound of beef requires 2,000 gallons of water!
Animal welfare is the farm’s top focus, and the 150-acre ranch follows a pasture-raised model, allowing the livestock to graze freely on open pastures. The animals are primarily fed a natural diet consisting of organic and locally sourced feed, reducing reliance on synthetic additives or genetically modified ingredients along with adhering to a strict policy of no use of hormones or antibiotics.
Farm-to-Table Dining

Flora Farms in Cabo features a farm-to-table restaurant called “Flora’s Field Kitchen” where guests can enjoy delicious meals made with fresh ingredients sourced directly from the farm. The seasonal menu with some permanent classics showcases the best produce and local flavors, offering a unique and delightful culinary experience.
Reservations are required as the locals and visitors that have had a previous Flora Farms experience return time and again. Our family declares their chicken dishes the most tender and flavorful in all of Cabo. There’s nothing else like it.
Every vegetable dish and salad we’ve had here is incredible too.
In addition, Flora’s Field Kitchen produces 15 types of delectable Neapolitan pizzas in its wood-fired oven that includes Margarita with house-made Mozzarella, Farm Bacon with Farm Egg, and Fennel Sausage and Mozzarella.
Market and Shops
To the delight of visitors, Flora Farms in Cabo has an on-site market and several shops to purchase a variety of organic produce, homemade goods, and artisanal products. The market offers a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, preserves, honey, and more.
Guaranteed, we always leave with a bag full.
On a warm day, Flora’s Ice Cream Cart is the ideal cool-down treat with their seasonal house-made sorbets and ice creams made with milk from the ranch, a cream base and fresh vanilla.
The Farm Bar is a popular gathering place with picturesque views serving a full range of fun fruit and vegetable-infused craft cocktails.
Activities and Events on the Farm

Flora Farms also hosts various activities and events for visitors to enjoy. These can include cooking classes, gardening workshops, yoga sessions, live music performances, and seasonal celebrations. Its warm and welcoming atmosphere promotes community engagement and a connection to nature.
Cooking classes are fun and interactive and include such topics as creating Rustic Ratatouille, Seasonal Tamales, Ricotta Gnocchi and Regional Salsas along with Tortilla Making. And the best part is the hands-on class is followed by an amazing lunch.
For those looking for an extension to healthy dining, the Farm Spa & Salon offers a myriad of massages and body treatments in a soothing, tranquil and nourishing lush atmosphere.
