ExperienceFirst, a top-rated guided tour company with expert local guides, has launched its new Unofficial Succession Tour for visitors and locals alike in New York City to follow the steps of the Roy family for a day. As the first-ever ‘Succession’-themed tour in NYC, fans can now immerse in the filming locations and real-life stories behind the hit show to curb their cravings for Sunday night episodes and to experience the story on a new level.
Designed and hosted by NYC-based team members with an insider perspective, the tour goes beyond a walk around the filming locations and dives deep into the historic context that makes the show so realistic.
Pulling guests even further into the ‘Succession’ universe, ExperienceFirst will also be hosting a Roy-worthy giveaway in tandem with this unprecedented launch. From September 19 until October 18, 2023, fans can enter via a form on the giveaway landing page for the chance to win a helicopter tour of the city for two with Manhattan Helicopters (valued at $600 USD), a $500 gift card to Michelin-Starred Italian restaurant, Al Coro (the successor to Del Posto which was featured in Episode 1 of Season 2) or this private tour for two.
During this two-hour tour around Downtown NYC, guests can live out the glamor and drama of a day in the life of a Waystar Royco executive, exploring some of the best ‘Succession’ filming locations to see the homes, offices and meeting places that backdrop the deals and conversations that made the show beloved. From the iconic Woolworth Building (Rava’s penthouse and one of the world’s most expensive properties) to Zuccotti Park (the site of Occupy Wall Street) and the Downtown Heliport (frequently used by the Roy’s) in between, the tour brings guests to the most important filming locations for the show’s plot points. You’ll get a glimpse into the lives of the 1% as they talk real estate, private jets, and the top-notch luxuries reserved for the ultra-wealthy.
Throughout the tour, the guide will share the shocking, true stories that inspired the companies that make up the zeitgeist of ‘Succession’ from families like the Rockefellers, Astors and Murdochs. As the day comes to a close, guests will have the chance to take a photo at the notorious bench Kendall sits at during the series finale. Guests will also get tips from their expert guide on more luxe NYC experiences in the city they can try to extend the ‘Succession’ experiences that even Logan would approve of.
“The inspiration behind the tour came from my, and our full team’s, passion for finding filming sets of our own favorite movies and shows. As a giant fan of ‘Succession,’ I constantly spot the filming sites while walking around Manhattan’s Financial District and wanted to bring that exciting experience to our guests,” Christopher Serpe, ExperienceFirst’s North America Manager of Operations as well as creator of this tour, said. “In creating this tour, we explored the themes of art imitating life, sharing the real-life inspirations for the characters and stories that inspired the Roy family lifestyle. The tour is much more than just the sites from the series and perfect for anyone who is already a fan of the show or just curious.”
Following the massively successful launch of the Emily in Paris: The Unofficial Tour, (which is a top five Paris tour for ExperienceFirst and recommended by 98% of travelers on Tripadvisor), this tour serves as the second pop-culture-themed tour for ExperienceFirst. These tours are designed around the rising trend of travelers inspired to visit a destination after seeing it featured on a TV show, news source, or movie.
“I started ExperienceFirst with the mission to educate and entertain visitors, bringing history and stories to life,” Andrew Luan, Founder and CEO of ExperienceFirst, said. “I know first-hand the excitement of New York’s corporate world, having worked on Wall Street as a bond trader. We are thrilled at the opportunity to bring guests in with behind-the-scenes anecdotes that provide richness to the ‘Succession’ storylines that fans love.”
The ‘Succession’ tour in New York is priced $39 for adults, $35 for ages 3-12 and free for infants aged 0-2. The tour runs at 10:00 AM daily and 3:00 PM Friday-Sunday. The tour commences at 85 Chambers Street on the southeast corner of Broadway and Chambers and ends at Battery Park. This tour is accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. In case of stairs or escalators, a guide will direct guests to a nearby alternative. Private tours are also available.
