Ahoy, maties! The pirates are staking their claim in the Florida Panhandle. If you’re a pirate fan like me, or even a wanna be, you won’t want to miss all the fun!
Following the wildly successful swashbuckling Pirates Voyage locations in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Dolly Parton is bringing her adventure and family fun to Panama City Beach.
The Dolly Parton’s Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show will open on May 29, 2025, in the indoor theater on the Panama City Beach Parkway.
The 60,000 square-foot arena sets the stage for famous pirate Blackbeard and his quarter master Calico Jack leading the Crimson and Sapphire pirates to battle on deck, in the water and in the sky above their full-sized pirate ships. The 600,000-gallon indoor water stage features three ships, a 15-foot-deep lagoon, and highlights the talents of a cast of more than two dozen aerialists, divers, dancers and singers, and an original song by Dolly Parton.
Pandemonium breaks out in an unbelievable battle with sword fighting, cannons blazing, pirates scaling masts, and swinging ship to ship, fighting to win the coveted Davey Jones sunken treasure. Guests will feel the heat of a lagoon of fire, shiver as skeletons appear from the deep and sky above during a fierce storm. Even Salty the sea lion joins the action and beautiful mermaids gracefully perform before diving back to their homes under the sea.
As the action begins, guests enjoy a spectacular four-course pirate feast featuring a Buccaneer Biscuit, Voyager Creamy Vegetable Soup, Half O’ Roasted Chicken, Me Hearties Pulled Pork, Matey’s Mashed Potatoes, Cob O’Buttery Corn, and an Apple O’Me Eye Apple Turnover along with unlimited Coca-Cola, tea or coffee. An add on fee for fresh shrimp served in a zesty cocktail sauce is optional and vegetarian and gluten-free meals are available upon request.
The fun even begins before the main show with pre-show entertainment that includes a real pirate singalong and an invitation to whet your whistle at Blackbeard’s Quarters with pirate-themed beverages and grubs.
The whole family can also meet the animal ambassadors featured in the Pirates Voyage & Dinner Show during an exclusive 30-minute program that gives guests close and direct contact with fish, dogs, birds and sea lions.
For more excitement, visitors can Join the Crew before taking their seats in the theater and be transformed into a swashbuckling pirate or a beautiful mermaid with special makeovers that include facial makeup, a bandana or pirate hat, earring and eye patch and a sword and flag for the pirates. Mermaids will get dazzling facial makeup, a tiara, earrings, a wand and a flag.
And if the show isn’t enough to satisfy the swashbuckler or mermaid in you, head through the Pirates Treasure Shop after the show for some handcrafted pirate ships, sculptured mermaids, pirate t-shirts, pirate hats, playful swords, and plush toys for the kiddos.
