The internationally acclaimed Balloon Museum is bringing its groundbreaking, interactive art exhibition—EmotionAir: Art You Can Feel—to the U.S. for the first time at San Francisco’s iconic Palace of Fine Arts for a limited run from March 29 through September 7, 2025. EmotionAir: Art You Can Feel features large-scale installations, emotional projections, performance art, and inflatable artworks by renowned international artists, transporting visitors on an unprecedented sensory journey that explores the connection between art and emotion.
The exhibition spans 7,000 square meters and features 20 interactive inflatable artworks by internationally renowned artists such as ENESS, Michela Picchi, Kalman Pool and Karina Smigla-Bobinski. San Francisco is the first U.S. city to host this contemporary art exhibition and the fourth city globally to exhibit this collection.
“Since its inception, the Balloon Museum has embraced the idea that the most authentic and pure elements of childhood can be transformed into powerful means of expression,” Roberto Fantauzzi, CEO of Lux Entertainment, said. “This vision, as simple as it is revolutionary, was born as a creative response to the changing international social and cultural landscape.”
Inspired by the Ballon Museum’s popular Pop Air and Let’s Fly exhibitions, EmotionAir was curated with an even more ambitious goal of transforming art into mirrors to explore the profound relationship between art and emotions, action and reaction. EmotionAir features the work of 22 international artists pushing the boundaries of form and space to evoke a wide range of emotions with their inflatable creations. From Cyril Lancelin’s fear-evoking “Cube Abyss” to Miranda Makaroff’s trusting “Synchronized Chaos”, each piece tells a unique emotional story that offers insight into the emotional complexity of the human experience.
EmotionAir debuted in London in 2023 at the historic Old Billingsgate space, followed by Dusseldorf at Heyestraße and Brussels at La Place de la Belgique.
Since its debut in 2021, the Balloon Museum project has welcomed more than 7 million visitors from around the world to its four exhibitions: Pop Air, Let’s Fly, EmotionAir and Euphoria. The Balloon Museum is the first traveling, immersive contemporary art exhibition dedicated to inflatable art. The format is created by a curatorial team that designs and realizes contemporary art exhibitions with specific works in which air is the distinctive element. The Balloon Museum’s four exhibitions have been presented in international cities such as London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Miami and New York.
